The state aims to reimburse, subject to budget appropriation, 75% of district costs in excess of four times the state average foundation budget per pupil as calculated under state law. This year's initial FY21 reimbursement is currently set by the state at 70%. The Circuit Breaker budget in any given year reflects the district's reimbursement for prior year expenses.
