<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 32px; background-color: white;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 26.666664123535156px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #222222;"></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 26.666664123535156px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">That Superintendent's Recommendation #20-09, Grant Award increase be adopted as follows: that the School Committee accept and approve the FY20 Early Literacy Intervention grant award increase in the amount and for the period indicated:</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.5in; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; background-color: white;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">FY20 Early Literacy Intervention Grant increase for the period November 22, 2019 to June 30, 2020, in the amount of $2,250.00 (for a total of $107,829.00).Project/Grant SC20632.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.5in; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; background-color: white;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.5in; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; background-color: white;"><strong><u><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Description</span></u></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">:This increase will support additional materials and parent transportation.This grant supports ongoing professional development by Lesley University in Reading Recovery for two CPS Teacher Leaders (.40 FTE each).These Teacher Leaders support the Early Literacy Interventionists, who provide individual tutorial assistance to at-risk first grade students.In addition to part-time teaching duties, the Teacher Leaders supervise, train and conduct professional development for Reading Recovery teachers from both in and out of the district.The grant also provides for contracted professional development and travel to the annual Reading Recovery Teacher Leader Institute, the National Reading Recovery and K-6 Literacy Conference, as well as instructional materials for both trained and in-training teachers.</span></p>A true copy:
