<p>Whereas COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the 2020 academic school year; and </p>
<p>Whereas students and families have had a diversity of experiences accessing and leveraging the curriculum developed by CPSD educators during the school closure; and </p>
<p>Whereas the School Committee seeks to support families and students with academic resources and supports during the duration of the pandemic; and </p>
<p>Whereas as we enter the summer months, COVID-19 will continue to have an impact on youth development organizations, summer camps, and education service providers abilities to provide programming for students and families; and </p>
<p>Whereas students and families may benefit from additional support to fill programming gaps caused by COVID-19 during the summer months; therefore Be it resolved the Superintendent instructs CPSD schools to ensure that students and families can access all virtual learning curriculum developed during the 2020 school year throughout the summer. #20-99 Joint Motion by Member Fantini and Vice-Chair Bowman </p>
<p>Whereas the Cambridge Public School District is committed to providing families with information that will promote increased family engagement; and </p>
<p>Whereas engaging families as a partner with a formal, ongoing feedback mechanism that creates differentiated opportunities for family voice and engagement is a crucial component of the 2017 - 2020 District Plan; therefore Be it resolved that the committee directs the Superintendent to create a Parent University whereby the school department organizes and provides relevant information/courses to parents to allow all parents to become partners in the education of their children.
