Course Description

This course provides a general introduction to the basic concepts of probability and descriptive statistics. Computer-based methods for data collection, calculation, display, and analysis are integrated into the course. Students examine the advantages and limitations of the use of statistics in the investigation of contemporary issues and problems in science, health, education, management, and the social sciences. A research project involving descriptive statistics is required. This course is offered in the Fall semester.
