Course Description

Honors Chemistry provides a more in-depth exploration of the fundamental principles of chemistry through a rigorous, hands-on approach. Emphasizing experimental techniques and problem-solving, the course integrates laboratory experiences with theoretical concepts. Students investigate the behavior of particles, gas laws, periodic trends, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, reaction rates, and acids and bases. Students will complete a common midterm and final exam. Designed for highly motivated, independent learners with strong mathematical reasoning and application skills, this course fosters analytical thinking and scientific communication. Honors Chemistry aligns with Massachusetts Science Frameworks and prepares students for further studies in chemistry and related sciences.
