What is Jazz Band? A musical group that performs jazz music. Who directs the Jazz Band? Mr. Sciarra. When does the Jazz Band begin? Wednesday February 9, 2022 When are rehearsals? Wednesdays, 3:00-4:15 in room 3008. Where will the Jazz Band perform? The Jazz Band may have an opportunity to perform at the PAUS Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 6:30PM. Why should I sign up for Jazz Band? You will get to perform jazz music at the Spring Concert, and it will be fun! Who can sign up for Jazz Band? Jazz Band is not a beginner group. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade PAUS student who plays a woodwind, brass, guitar, piano, or percussion instrument may sign up, but you must have at least one year of playing experience on your instrument and a playing range of at least the Concert B-flat Major scale on your instrument.If you are already in the Band Intensive class, just talk to me during Band class about signing up for Jazz Band. If you are not in the Band Intensive class and would like to be in the after school Jazz Band, then please see Mr. Sciarra for an audition. Mr Sciarra can be found in room 3008.Eligibility: Jazz Band is not a beginner group.
